Media Village “Points Per League” Fixtures announced

Many of you are aware that the Media Village “Points per Leg” League was due to start on Monday 8th August. Darwen Pool wishes to apologise for the delay and wish to announce that the league will now start on Monday 5th September.

The league has now been split into 3 groups, based on end of season league position, and each team will play round-robin on a “Points-per-Leg” plus 2 points for a win.

Members of the Ellenshaw A and George teams, who unfortunately withdrew because of the pubs closure, will be allowed to join another league team for the “Points per Leg” league. These players though will not be allowed to play in any Team Knockout Competitions. All other players in existing teams can not transfer to other teams.

Please be aware that the normal league, which has just finished, will be used for determining the Champions along with Promotion and Relegation.

Full details of the fixtures can be found here

2011 Monday Night Fixtures revealed.

Darwen Pool Association are please to announce that fixtures for the 2011 season are now available. This year you will get 2 leagues for the price of one.

On 14th February our normal league will start and will continue through to the 18th July. This league will determine the League Champions, aswell as promotion and relegation as normal. The league will be played on the same points system as in previous years with 2 points for an away win, 1 point for a home win plus an additional point for completing all 9 games.

On your return from the summer holidays, the leagues will be split into 3 equal-ish groups as such

  • Top of A League
  • Bottom of A League plus top of B League
  • Bottom of B League

These 3 leagues will then play in the Media Village “Points-per-Leg” League for additional trophies and, as the name states, each leg is important in what should be a very tight league pitching teams of equal ability.

Finally, we would like to thank Aaron Shread, Matt Bishop and the team at Media Village for all the work they have done. Media Village have produced and printed all the new score cards and also the 2011 Season Handbook. The book contains a copy of all the rules used within the league, the fixtures for the main season and all the contact numbers provided for both the venues and the teams.

The book, along with the scorecards, will be being delivered in the coming days but if you can’t wait then please click on the links below.
