The Darwen Pool Association has decided to enter a team into next seasons Lancashire Interleague.

The captain of the team will be Matt Bishop from Uncle Jacks, with Ian Harle from The Punch as vice captain.

The trials for the team will be carried out on Sunday 10th January 2010, commencing at 3PM.

Anyone who has played 50% of their pub’s games will be entitled to try out for the team.

The trials will be held at The Punch, where food and pool will be provided free of charge.

Their will be a small cost of £2.50 per person. The funds generated will be used to cover the additional charges incurred to the DPA for registration of the team.

The format of the trial is yet to be decided, depending on the levels of interest we receive. In order for us to plan this could the captain of each team indicate in an email to how many of their team will be attending.

Please note:

• Fixtures are carried out once a month, usually on a Sunday.
• The Lancashire interleague currently consists of the following teams
  o Accrington
  o Clitheroe
  o Burnley
  o Lancaster (2 teams)
  o Preston
  o Wigan
  o Leyland
• All games will be played using World Rules. The time rules apply for interleague matches. Each shot must be played with 60 seconds.
• The format of the match is two sets of 9 singles (best of 18). A player can play a maximum of 2 games (1 in each set of singles).
• We will be looking to recruit a squad of 15 players.
